A recent commercial sits here once it is cleared.
A commercial has one job: remove the reason somebody is hesitating.
Not to win awards, not to show the building, not to feature the owner because he paid for it. The script starts from the hesitation and works backwards, which is why the first meeting is about sales rather than visuals.
Six kinds of commercial work.
Most clients need two of these in a year, not six. We will tell you which two.
Brand film
The anchor piece. The one that lives on the homepage for years and does the work before a salesperson opens their mouth.
Product film
What it is, how it works, why it costs what it costs. The film that shortens the sales conversation.
Campaign cuts
Short executions built for a specific offer, produced in several angles so paid media has something to learn from.
Testimonial and case film
Customers saying it instead of you. The most persuasive film you can make and the hardest to fake.
Recruitment and internal
Film aimed at the people you want to hire or keep. Same crew, different audience, usually a much better return than anyone expects.
Social cuts
Vertical versions framed at the shoot rather than cropped afterwards in a panic.
Nobody discovers the film in the edit.
That is the most expensive place to discover anything, so we settle it on paper first.
Relative shape of a straightforward commercial. Your dates are set in the treatment.
Concept to master, without subcontracting the middle.
Two rounds of changes on the cut, which is almost always enough because you approved the script.
| Concept and script | Developed against what the film has to achieve |
| Storyboard | And a shot list the crew actually works from |
| Casting | Where the piece needs it, with releases signed |
| Studio and crew | Lighting, camera, sound and direction on the day |
| Edit | Rough cut early, two rounds of changes |
| Colour and sound | Graded and mixed, not exported raw |
| Graphics | Motion, titles and end frames |
| Subtitles | Arabic, Hebrew and English |
| Versions | Master plus vertical, square and short cuts |
Some briefs need a bigger crew and a longer schedule.
Multi day productions with casting, locations, permits and a full post schedule are handled as cinema tier work, with the planning that requires.
The things people ask first.
How long should the film be?
As long as it needs to remove the hesitation and not one second longer. For most brand films that is under two minutes, and the campaign cuts are far shorter.
Can you use our existing footage?
Sometimes, and we will tell you honestly whether mixing it in will look like a compromise.
Do you handle music licensing?
Yes. Every track is licensed for the territories and platforms you are running in, and the licence is listed in the handover.
What do you need from us?
Time with whoever sells, access to the product or site, and one person empowered to approve. That last one saves more money than anything else.
How many rounds of changes?
Two on the cut are standard and almost always enough, because you approved the script before we shot it.
Tell us what the film has to do.
One call. We will tell you what it takes to make it properly and where a smaller version would do the same job.
